Committee to Elect Bill Clancy

Detachment Commander — Sons of the American Legion

Detachment of New York

April 2017

Dear Sons Member:

As you may already know, one of our long time members, William Clancy, has been selected elected as the Detachment Commander of the Sons of the American Legion for the State of New York for the year of July 2017 thru July 2018.  This is a great honor for Bill, as well as our Squadron and the Leonard H. Hawkins Post 156 here on City Island.

Throughout Bill's term in office, he will be representing almost 30,000 members of the Detachment of New York Sons of the American Legion. Bill will be traveling across New York, visiting all sixty-two counties within the state. He will also be traveling to Washington D.C. as well as the Legion National Headquarters in Indianapolis.

Extensive traveling, of course, means expenses. Bill will need funds for approximately 120 days and nights of hotel stays, rental cars, meals and dry cleaning.

This is where you, the Sons member, can help. Your financial support is greatly appreciated by attending all or any of the upcoming local fundraising events we are planning to host.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved in any way, please attend our regular monthly meetings which are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:30pm. You can also contact one of the follow committee members: Victor Anderson, James Livingston, Gene Valesio, Walter Natiw, Bobby Stokes, Tom Vivolo or Peter Booth.

We thank you in advance for your support!

Victor Anderson,  Commander-Sons of the American Legion Squadron 156
